Scotland

All 2025 dates now released

Location

Situated in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, on the west coast of Scotland, Baileyfield is surrounded by deep glens, dramatic peaks, waterfalls, woodland walks and narrow sea loch. It makes for a stunning backdrop for walkers and cyclists.

Guests are likely to stumble across red squirrels, deer, buzzards, seals, eider ducks, herons and oystercatchers whilst staying at Baileyfield. If you are very lucky, dolphins and porpoises can swim past the house.

The quaint town of Dunoon is within easy reach and has a good selection of shops, supermarkets, pubs, and restaurants. In the summer you can take a trip on the Waverley - the last ocean-going paddle steamer - and explore by sea the hills and lochs of the Cowal Peninsula. Come autumn, the annual Dunoon ultra-race takes place in the forest trails behind the house.

Nearby there is an abundance of outdoor activities on offer with wild swimming, mountain biking, sailing, sea fishing, windsurfing, boat tours, quad bikes, clay shooting, kayaking and much more.

The magnificent woodland gardens at Benmore Botanic Gardens are well worth a visit. They boast a world-renowned collection of flowers including rhododendrons and azaleas and an iconic walkway of magnificent Giant Redwoods. Also nearby is the iconic Victoria walkway up the waterfalls at Pucks Glen - another recommended walk.

There is a small shop and a cafe which is only 300 yards from Baileyfield, and the Strone Inn pub and restaurant is 400 yards. The lovely Blairmore Bistro is just a mile from the house.
